October and beyond
Wow! Summer has flown by and it was mostly spent working on and presenting the group show “333” featuring the work of myself and fellow Savannah artists Isak Dove and Maxx Feist at Gallery 2424. The theme of the show was how three unique artists use their artistic voice to work through our emotions of the current political climate. We used limited palettes to unify our work and throughout the show worked on a group piece which is now on display in my studio space at Arts Southeast. I have a few of my pieces from the show up in my studio so come on by sometime to get a taste of what the show was all about.
Creation, Maintenance and Destruction, 2025 Acrylic on 48×30” canvas by artists Adrienne Berkland, Maxx Fesit and Isak Dove (available)
Now that fall is officially here and the weather is getting cooler I am getting back into plein air painting. I will be participating in the Olmsted Arts Georgia Color Plein Air Competition again this October from October 14-19. I did this competition last year and learned so much so I can’t wait to see how this years competition plays out. In addition to creating paintings specifically for the competition that week, I will also be giving a demonstration on October 17th from 12-1:30 at the exhibition gallery located at 2123 E. Victory Drive. All the presentations are free and you can register in advance to reserve your spot. My presentation will be about painting with limited palettes since I spent all summer working with them for the group show.
Live Event Painting booking for 2026!
One of my first gigs as a full time artist was back in 2022 when I painted at the 7th anniversary celebration for my favorite art store, Starlandia. I have painted live many times since then for events around town but this summer I did my first wedding and I LOVED it! It was such a rewarding experience from the challenge of capturing someones special moment in one night under the eyes of all the guests, but also getting to see their ceremony and feel the love of everyone who attended just filled my heart. I really feel like there is no better way for me to use my skills. It was an honor! If you know anyone looking for a live event painter, please pass along my information. I am booking for 2026 and 2027 now.
I have really cut back on what markets I am doing these days so the best way to see my work is at my studio at Arts Southeast (my studio door is open Thursday-Sunday from 12-5), on Saturday’s at Forsyth Park where I busk regularly, or at one of my scheduled shows or events. Here is what my event calendar looks like coming up!
October 3 5-9 PM First Friday Street Fair, open studio in Arts Southeast
October 14-19 GA Color Plein Air Competition
October 25 10-5 PM Isle of Hope Arts and Music Festival
November 7 5-9 PM First Friday, open studio at Arts Southeast
November 14 5-8 PM 6x6x6 Group Show at Location Gallery
December 5 till end of month Group Show featuring myself and Dana Richardson at Cute Tomatoes Gallery
Looking into 2026… I am hoping to find myself at Gordonston Art Fair again on February 26, and I will be having my first solo show (that’s in an actually gallery) in Macon in June 2026 at Tanglewood Studios.
NEW WORK!
I have been struggling with a hand injury to my dominant hand since February. It’s been rough but it has also opened up some pathways in my brain as I have adapted and began painting with my left hand. The horses represent a series I have worked on completely with my left hand. I had a horse phase as a kid and spent many hours drawing horses so they seemed like a natural choice for teaching my left hand better brush control. Everything else are works that are a blend of left hand and right hand painting.
All work shown here is available for purchase, shoot me an email if interested. Insured shipping available.
Thanks for making it this far. Much love for all the support!
